University Physicians Healthcare Opens Outpatient Psychiatry Clinic

TUCSON, Ariz. (Sept. 29, 2009) – University Physicians Healthcare now is providing outpatient psychiatric services at the UPH Hospital campus.

The UPH Outpatient Psychiatry Clinic, which opened Sept. 2, offers comprehensive mental health services to adults ages 18 and older. The new clinic is located east of UPH Hospital at 2800 E. Ajo Way.

The clinic is headed by Irene Kitzman, MD, an assistant professor of clinical psychiatry for The University of Arizona College of Medicine who has been board-certified in psychiatry since 1985.

“This clinic provides much-needed access to additional mental health services in Southern Arizona,” said Dr. Kitzman. “It not only offers high-quality, state-of-the-art consultation, evaluation and treatment, but the clinic plays an important role in the hospital’s psychiatric residency program.”

The clinic is open weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Appointments can be made by calling (520) 874-7500.

UPH is a non-profit corporation created in 1985 as the medical practice of the physicians of the UA College of Medicine.
