Each year, Delfina Gaxiola and a team of gift-givers at the Arizona Health Sciences Center and University of Arizona Medical Center adopt several patients and their families for the holidays. This year, there are many terminally ill patients and families in need, so she is reaching out to the UA and greater Tucson community to help make their season bright.

The University of Arizona Medical Center has accepted a request by the Arizona Department of Health Services to become the state’s second Infectious Disease Treatment Center of Excellence, making it Southern Arizona’s designated hospital for the treatment of emerging infectious diseases such as Ebola.
