SCOTTSDALE, Ariz.—On Tuesday, Dec. 6, Barneys New York in Scottsdale will host a reception to celebrate its “Holiday Windows,” featuring paintings created by patients and friends of the University of Arizona Steele Children’s Research Center.
Approximately 50-60 canvases were painted by children from Tucson and Phoenix. The children were asked to use Lady Gaga as their inspiration for the paintings.
Each piece of artwork is available for sale, and proceeds will be donated to the Steele Center for its research and clinical programs.
The “Lady Gaga” theme was chosen because Barneys New York partnered with Lady Gaga, who created “Gaga’s Workshop”— an in-store holiday shop – at its New York location on Madison Avenue.
Each year, Barneys New York stores from around the country choose a local children’s charity to feature during the holiday shopping season. This year, PANDA (People Acting Now Discover Answers) was chosen as the beneficiary for the Barneys New York location in Scottsdale.
PANDA is the Phoenix Women’s Board of the Steele Center. Over the past 12 years, PANDA has raised more than $3.5 million to support the Steele Center in its work to improve children’s health through research and clinical care.
