Lizzie’s Loot Launches Cookie Sales Program to Support Young Patients at Diamond Children’s

Lizzie’s Loot is launching a cookie sales program to support the patients at The University of Arizona - Diamond Children’s.

100 percent of cookie sales will provide toys, gift cards and medical equipment to Diamond Children’s. Team Lizzie Bell decided to launch a cookie program that would become a sustainable project for Lizzie’s Loot, which provides toys, gift cards and necessary medical equipment, like Vein Finders, to support young patients at Diamond Children’s.

Lizzie’s Loot is a program of Team Lizzie Bell, which brings joy to several thousand kids each year through toy and book donations for young hospital patients. To a child coping with a chronic, life-threatening medical condition, the hospital becomes a second home with frequent visits required for treatment. Through Lizzie’s Loot, children who must regularly cope with painful and uncomfortable procedures have something to look forward to.

At the Hematology/Oncology/BMT/Infusion Clinic at The University of Arizona Medical Center – University Campus, children receive treatments for cancer, marrow failure and a variety of other serious medical conditions. Inside the clinic is a bright yellow door covered in children’s handprints. As children open the Lizzie’s Loot closet, they find a toy waiting for them. More than 800 toys and 200 gifts cards for the teen patients are needed every month at Diamond Children’s.

“We were thrilled when Lori Throne, Vikki Began and Joe Molinar of UAMC wanted to partner with Team Lizzie Bell to develop a sustainable way to support the Lizzie’s Loot toy program,” said Pam Carnes, director of operations for Team Lizzie Bell.
