Northwestern Mutual and Starlight Children’s Foundation will place a Fun Center™, featuring a Nintendo Wii™, DVD player and a Sharp AQUOS™ LCD TV, at The University of Arizona Medical Center – Diamond Children’s for pediatric patients to enjoy.
The Fun Center will be dedicated on Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2:30 to 3 p.m., at Diamond Children’s lobby.
The ease with which Fun Centers roll up to the side of young patients’ beds – or anywhere in a hospital setting –makes them perfect for hospitalized children in many situations: anticipating surgery, during long outpatient clinic treatments, waiting in the emergency room or fighting loneliness after visiting hours have ended. The Fun Center is a welcome guest, when other visitors aren’t around, according to project literature.
“Our patients love these Fun Centers, and we are so grateful for this gift from Northwestern Mutual and Starlight Children’s Foundation,” said Lori Throne, RN, BC, MSN, director of Women’s and Children’s Services at Diamond Children’s.
