TUCSON, Ariz. – For the first year, the Skin Cancer Institute will be holding LIVING IN HARMONY WITH THE SUN during the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum’s Summer Saturday Evenings. The event will be held Saturday, June 2, 2012 from 4 to 8 p.m.
The event is free with admission to the Museum- which is offered at 50 percent off regular admission price on Saturday evenings June through August. Families will learn about sun safety, awareness and skin cancer prevention.
During the evening The Skin Cancer Institute will provide fun kids activities, educational displays, a skin analyzer, and the UA Mt. Lemmon SkyCenter will have special telescopes set up to observe the sun. Most importantly, we will be offering free skin cancer screenings. One in five Americans will develop skin cancer in the course of a lifetime, so this is the perfect opportunity to have your skin checked.
For more information about the event, contact Denise Spartonos at (520) 626-1037 or visit our website at www.azskincancerinstitute.org.
This event is presented by the Skin Cancer Institute at the University of Arizona Cancer Center and the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum and is supported by a generous gift from the Bert W. Martin Foundation.
