Couple Receives Honorary Alumnus Award from UA Alumni Association

The Honorary Alumnus Award is given by the UA Alumni Association to non-alumni of UA who have demonstrated continued interest in and exceptional loyalty and service to the University for 10 years or longer.
TUCSON, Ariz. – Laurence Hurley, PhD, professor at the University of Arizona College of Pharmacy, and his wife, Terry Evers, recently received an Honorary Alumnus Award for 2011 from the UA Alumni Association.

The couple was chosen for the award because of unflagging devotion to and support of the University of Arizona and the UA College of Pharmacy. Despite having had prestigious careers elsewhere, once they arrived at UA, they became very loyal to the UA.

For example, the two open their own home to host university events, both large and small, multiple times each year. They never have refused a request for service from the University and many times have initiated support on their own. They founded the Jack Cole Lectureship at the college, which they arrange and underwrite.
