Each year, dedicated golfers honor the memory of a little girl and help find a cure for cancer. For the past 12 years, the Tee Up For Tots golf tournament has been held on the Friday closest to Courtney Page Zillman’s birthday.
After a courageous battle, Courtney passed away on Nov. 25, 1999, from neuroblastoma (a pediatric cancer that develops in the nerve tissue) when she was only 4 years old. Tee Up for Tots honors Courtney by raising funds to battle pediatric cancer.
On Friday, Aug. 26, Tee Up For Tots will host its 13th Annual Charity Golf Tournament at the OMNI Tucson National Resort. The golf tournament raises funds for the Courtney Page Zillman Doctoral Fellowship at the University of Arizona Steele Children’s Research Center, helping support its ongoing pediatric cancer research and programs that help pediatric cancer patients and their families. The Courtney Page Zillman Fellowship is given to a promising young graduate student for two years to support his or her cancer research.
Registration begins at 6:30 a.m.; the opening ceremony is at 7:45 a.m. and tee-off is at 8 a.m. Entry includes greens fee, 19th hole party with buffet lunch and raffle.
