Tony Felix Receives Pharmacy Practice Award from UA College of Pharmacy

The Danny and Rae Jacob Award for Pharmacy is given to recognize outstanding pharmacy practitioners for their quality of practice and service to the community and profession.
Tony FelixTUCSON, Ariz. – Tony Felix of Tucson, a 1977 graduate of the University of Arizona College of Pharmacy, received the Danny and Rae Jacob Award for Pharmacy Practice for 2011 from the UA College of Pharmacy Nov. 4.
 
Felix is the director of pharmacy services at El Rio Community Health Center. Over the last decade, he has had a major impact on community and ambulatory pharmacy practice both in Arizona and nationally.
 
El Rio’s use of pharmacists in the management of patients with diabetes, hypertension and hyperlipidemia has been recognized for excellence by the U.S. Health Resources and Services Administration. Felix is spearheading the nationwide expansion of this pharmacist-based disease management program.
