‘The Art and Work of Dave Cantrell: 30 Years of Excellence’ at the Arizona Health Sciences Library through Oct. 29

Exhibit of nearly 50 examples, including two- and three-dimensional illustrations, of Cantrell’s work as a scientific illustrator, animation specialist and designer with AHSC BioCommunications from 1984 until his death Dec. 17, 2013.

Dave Cantrell“The Art and Work of Dave Cantrell: 30 Years of Excellence” will be displayed in the Arizona Health Sciences Library, 1501 N. Campbell Ave., Tucson, through Wednesday, Oct. 29. Free and open to the public, the exhibit may be viewed Sundays through Thursdays, 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Fridays and Saturdays, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

A talented and well-respected scientific illustrator, animation specialist and designer with AHSC BioCommunications at the University of Arizona, Cantrell worked with many AHSC faculty and staff from 1984 until his death Dec. 17, 2013.

Nearly 50 examples of Cantrell’s work over his remarkable career, including two- and three-dimensional illustrations, will be displayed in the coffee bar area of the AHS Library. 

In addition, the AHS Library will host a special reception honoring Cantrell, his work and the care he took to go above and beyond for his many clients, on Tuesday, Aug. 26, from 3 to 5 p.m.

Although admission is free, please note that there is a parking fee of $1.50 per hour, cash only, Mondays-Fridays, 6 a.m.-9 p.m. (free on Saturdays and Sundays) in the University of Arizona Medical Center-University Campus Visitor/Patient Parking Garage; the AHS Library is unable to validate parking. Several metered parking spaces are available in the UA 2012 Lot Specific Permit parking lot, on North Cherry Avenue between East Drachman Street and East Mabel Street, southwest of the AHS Library. After 5 p.m. Mondays-Fridays and all day Saturdays and Sundays parking is free in the UA 2012 Lot Specific Permit parking lot and nearby UA Zone 1 lots.
