Community Engagement Alliance

The National Community Engagement Alliance (CEAL) Against COVID-19 Disparities is to provide trustworthy information through active community engagement and outreach to the people hardest-hit by the COVID-19 pandemic, including African Americans, Hispanics/Latinos and American Indians/Alaska Natives, with the goal of building long-lasting partnerships as well as improving diversity and inclusion in our research response to COVID-19.

We are developing a diverse health care workforce that will meet the needs of an increasingly diverse population. From helping underrepresented students foster an interest in health careers to training culturally sensitive future health care professionals, our educational goal is to produce health professionals who are ready and able to reduce health disparities in diverse populations.

Innovations in Healthy Aging

A profound shift in the U.S. population is bringing unprecedented changes in what it means to be an older adult. Over the past decade, the number of older adults in the U.S. grew to more than 54 million, including a 52% increase in Arizona’s older adult population. We are leading a university-wide effort to navigate this massive population shift through a new strategic initiative, Innovations in Healthy Aging.
